“Louie”

Louie was one of the smartest pugs I have had as a companion.  He was quick to learn new tricks and always amused visitors by showing how he could turn off the lights or pretending his fur was on fire by showing his “stop, drop, and roll” for the neighborhood children.

“Duke”

Duke was never late for dinner!  He is probably best known for having his own seat at the  table.  He was well mannered most of the time but it didn’t take him long to figure out that if he sneezed on your food he would likely end up with it.

“Stella”

While Stella may have been the smallest of the pugs,  she was certainly the biggest in attitude.
She quickly became the head of the pack when it came to who was boss.  Stella moved to Texas from California by way of Tennessee.  She and her sister Mona adapted to life with Duke and the other animals that she came into contact with.

“Mona”

Mona showed me why pugs are considered the clowns of the dog world.  She had an extra undercoat and by the looks of the vacuum cleaner I am sure she shed a new dog every day. Mona loved to watch football and she could always be found parked in front of the TV on Sunday  afternoons in the fall.

Mona might be found lounging out on the deck.  Occasionally she would even pretend to be a perch for the song birds.

“Lylu”

Lylu has taken over Stella’s place as queen of the castle.  She hasn’t figured out that she is a small dog and loves to play with her cousin Charlie (retriever-shepherd).  She is more than willing to clean any remnants of dog food from his mouth and he doesn’t seem to mind.  She has a terrible dislike of squirrels and thinks that cats should only be tolerated as necessary.

“Rocky”

Rocky is our new addition.  He is quite the character.  He loves to play with his pal Mattie and enjoys visiting with Lylu.  He was on the short list to compete in the “Puppy Bowl” for 2020.

“Bennie”

Bennie is a Tennessee pug.  In his younger days he was  ready to don his leather gear and doggles and go for a ride.  These days he is a bit more chilled out and relaxes with Hemingway and Tallulah.

“Lola”

Cousin Lola is a Southern California girl.  She loves hiking up in the canyons and can often be found playing with her big friend Kai.  She loves to travel and visits Texas every chance she gets.

“Maybelline”

“Could I be any cuter?” Although this pug was born in Texas she moved to Los Angeles. With a face like that she ought to be in pictures. She is incredibly fast, and has an energy force that rivals a NASA rocket.

The only drawback is all that energy requires a bit of nap time to recharge and this little pug has quite the “snore”.

“Cosmo and Bubba Ray”

We are the newest additions to the “Favorite Pugs”. Cosmo loves to “launch” himself either up into someone’s lap or off onto Bubba Ray.

We love to get in the car and travel and have visited from California to Mississippi and lots of places in between. When we do go on a journey, our stuff takes up most of the car leaving little room for things like golf clubs or a carry on size luggage for any one else.

Playing in the water is one of our favorite hobbies. When we are in Texas it helps us keep cool.

“Legopug”

Legopug likes sitting around doing nothing most days. Occasionally he rolls over but that’s about it.
